Flue Caps

Flue CapsWithout a flue cap, you are increasing the risk of animals, debris, and water that can cause serious damage to your chimney, as well as your firebox. Flue caps are also designed to contain sparks and cinders from igniting your roof and other surroundings. Flue caps come in standard sizes and we can install them for you.

Ultimately side effects can start to occur such as:

  • Unpleasant odor
  • Cracked or spalding tiles, bricks, rocks, or rotting wood
  • Rusted dampers
  • Damage to ceilings, walls, and wallpaper can result from a leak
    that goes undetected.

For the above reason we recommend covering the entire top of the chimney. It costs a little more initially, but in the long run can save you, the consumer, money.

Seal Tight Damper

Seal Tight Damper We offer the perfect solution to any fireplace. The Seal Tight Damper seals out mammals, birds and insects, and keeps out rain, snow sleet and hail. Constructed of cast aluminum and stainless steel, its gasket and solid silicone rubber gasket provide a weather tight seal.

This product is available in standard flue sizes. Please call us for more information.

Lining Systems

Lining SystemsAn unlined chimney is an unsafe chimney and without a liner, you are putting yourself and your family at risk of a chimney fire. A flue lining in a masonry chimney is defined as “clay, ceramic or metal conduit installed inside a chimney, intended to contain the combustion products, direct them to the outside atmosphere, and protect the chimney walls from heat and corrosion.”

There are several functions of a liner:

  • Protects the house from heat transfers to combustibles
  • Protects the masonry from the corrosive byproducts of combustion
  • Provide a correctly sized flue for optimum efficiency of appliances

We can install a lining system to meet your needs. The different types are as follows:

  • Clay Tiles – This is the most common type of masonry chimney liners. They are inexpensive, readily available, and perform quite well for open fireplace chimneys that are properly maintained.
  • Metal – These are usually made of stainless steel or aluminum and are primarily used to upgrade and repair existing chimneys. These liner systems are U. L. tested and listed, and if properly installed and maintained are extremely safe and durable. Stainless steel is suitable for wood burning or gas.
  • Fireclay Lining Seal – This is made of fireclay and is 1/4” to 1/2” thick and sealed with an acrual 60 bonding agent. This type of lining is suitable for gas logs only on a single wall structure.
